Hi Block E!
Time sure does fly when you are looking at awesome art, doesn’t it?
Here is the homework:
In regards to the self portrait you selected please answer the following:
1) How does the artist perceive herself? How do you think she wants to be perceived? How do you KNOW? Brainstorm/write 10 minutes (Please time yourself).
ü Consider all of the questions on your grid and be sure to use specific examples from the portrait.
2) Take a look at the Self Portrait Identity Analysis Project. You do not need to print it out; I will give you a copy Monday. We will also go over the assignment in class, so save your questions for Monday.
ü Brainstorm a concept for your written piece & draft your portrait.
ü We will have a Self Portrait work day next class, so be sure to have your concept for writing and rough (it can be very rough) draft for your portrait so that you can make the most out of the work day.
ü If you have special materials you want to use for your portrait, you can bring those next class as well OR you can use the laptops to write. I will have a laptop cart in class.
Happy Brainstorming!
Ms. Ham
