Hi Everyone,
I’m grading your exams and they are looking good! Pat yourself on the back.
The last assignment of the year is an Oral Portfolio Presentation. Here are the assignment sheets:
Semester Two Portfolio Oral
Portfolio Rubric – Semester 2 Oral
You will need a 4Rs form for the War and Language Unit and the Othello Unit:
THE FOUR RRRRs
Your presentations will be one on one and we will start Friday, May25th. You will have time to work on compiling your work, planning and practicing your presentations in class next week. You do not need to start this assignment until the week of the 21st. If you have been keeping track of your work this will be a piece of cake. Mmmm. Cake.
See you in class,
Ms. Ham

These documents are great resources.
Here are a few more:
Commentary Rubric – English 1 and 2 for 2011
Reading a Speech-some linguistic approaches
Remember, your commentary passages will be about 20 lines and will come from Act II, III or IV. Take a look at those acts and think about what portions of those acts are the most revealing in terms of character, relationships between characters, mood and tone of the play.
If you would like to read some commentaries from last year please come in during lunch or after school.
Good luck!
